Bound Brook is a borough located in New Jersey. It is situated along the Raritan River and is a part of Somerset County, New Jersey. Bound Brook is a relatively small borough in regard to population. The population of Bound Brook is approximately 10,500 residents. It was originally incorporated as a town in March 1869. The New Jersey Legislature helped Bound Brook to become incorporated. However, in February 1891, Bound Brook was reincorporated to become a borough.
The area was first settled in 1861 and received its name from the Green Brook on the eastern side of the borough. Existing as a boundary, the borough received its name of Bound Brook. The town of Bound Brook played a role in the American Revolutionary War. The Queen’s Bridge, which was constructed in 1767, was used during the Battle of Bound Brook in 1777. Through many years of renovations, the bridge still stands and is in use.
Bound Brook has a number of interesting transportation routes and forms of public transport. The Bound Brook Train Station is a historic service in the region. The historic station building was built in 1913 and is still being used today.
